I was an atheist for around 14 years before I started pursuing the Christian faith again, which started a little over 4 years ago. I’m now in Graduate School studying Christianity and becoming increasingly involved in the Church as I work to understand the history of this faith and what it means to be a Christian today. I live in Cincinnati and have a background in Supply Chain but have shifted into a new career that allows me to do the work that God calls me to within this beautiful city. I’m passionate about God, social justice, friendship, and adventure. The views and opinions in the blog are mine, and a reflection of the journey I’m on with God.

For a Brave Sparrow 
I enjoyed reading your post of the men working in the field and the men who are blind. It pains me to see those who have wanting to keep those that have not from receiving help from our government. It is exactly as you described in the story of the men who started out in the morning and those starting at the end of the day. It as if they believe cutting off help for the poor will balance our country’s budget. They have no problem paying 1 trillion dollars for the F-35 but not a few million for those in need. Sad.

Thank you for reading. I agree that the priorities of our budget seems to continue to emphasize “defense of our citizens” versus care of our citizens. I have a lot of hope for millennials in that they seem to have the promise of the generation that caused so much change to occur socially in the 60’s and 70’s. I think when they really become motivated we might see some more major shifts in policy.
